SITUATION

• Customer wanted to avoid expensive options of machining to thread parts or to maintain tight tolerances to create press fit assemblies or braze parts

• Loctite® 609 – a low viscosity Retaining Compound – was chosen

• Loctite Engineering Team worked out a solution with customer – a fine slot on one side of the jaw – to ensure proper application in the blind hole

BENEFITS

• Loctite® 609 bonds jaws and pliers with gap to 0.02 mm

• The bonded joint withstands a pull-out load of more than 150 kg (1.51 kN)
