US Endoscopy used for exploration and/or biopsy of organs and tissue, approached Henkel to get support in meeting its specific requirements for the new biopsy inlet valve production: the blue thermoplastic valve needed to be assembled using clear PVC tubing with an adequate pull strength which 15 to 20 second cure time was required. By using the Loctite® 7700 Hand Held LED Light Source with Loctite® 3922™ Medical Device Light Cure Adhesive, US Endoscopy was able to consistently cure the assembly in 10 seconds, while nearly doubling the pull strength.

Easier to Handle and More Consistent Strength than Alternatives
The two-part, static-mix acrylic adhesive that Owens Woodwork used for creates fiberglass structures for a wide array of applications like giant pineapples for an amusement park, large decorative columns for a casino, or very ornate decorative fencing to achieve good strengths was sometimes teared before the adhesive joint failed. Owens wanted to always have fiberglass failure and desired to get higher and more consistent strengths. Loctite® H4800™ Speedbonder™ Structural Adhesive was qualified for this application. When Owens evaluated this adhesive on their fiberglass structures, it tore the fiberglass before the adhesive joint failed in all cases and it has a 20-25 minutes work life which allowed Owens to improve both quality and manufacturing productivity.
